Little under five years ago, Genesis Homes was formed to build relatively small housing developments on two pieces of land in Cumbria, at Wigton and Brigham.
Later that year, in November 2017, there was great joy when the first house was completed in our St Cuthbert’s development at Wigton and the first Genesis Homes residents moved into their brand new home.
Fast forward four years and to November 2021, and we couldn’t be more proud to have reached a milestone 200th house completion since our formation.
As with every home we build to top specification for our customers, we were overjoyed when happy homeowners recently snapped up the property on the Beckstones development in North Rheda Park, near Whitehaven, especially given the landmark achievement for the company.
Genesis Homes has come a long way since its early days, and with the acquisition of south Cumbrian company Russell Armer Homes in April 2021, we are delighted to be building so many top quality homes within our local communities.
The huge interest in the first two developments in 2017 illustrated to us that there was large demand for the services we were providing to the people of Cumbria, and that only spurred us on to create even more homes.
Our expansion led us to finding a new home for the business in April 2018, a larger team requiring office space at our current base in Gilwilly Industrial Estate, in Penrith.
Building on the success of the early days, we have completed developments at Burgh-by-Sands, Cumwhinton and Armathwaite, as well as Kirkby Lonsdale in the south of the county, with houses currently available for purchase in Stainburn, Hackthorpe and Rheda North Park.
We’re not stopping there with some exciting developments in the pipeline, including the creation of 300 new homes across three districts in Penrith, Kendal and Halton, Lancashire.
And keep your eyes peeled for further exciting announcements in the coming months about plans for homes in Etterby, Lazonby and Calthwaite.
